Isle of Man Teas has opened a new manufacturing facility in Balthane Industrial Estate, Ballasalla.

Laurence Skelly, Minister for the Department of Economic Development officially opened the facility on 8th September 2016. He commented:

‘It is fantastic to welcome Isle of Man Teas to the Island and I was delighted to be invited to speak at the grand opening of their new manufacturing facility. Bringing fresh, talented and growing businesses to the Island is at the core of the work we do at the Department.

Graham Cregeen, Member for the Department of Economic Development, commented:

‘Isle of Man Teas currently employ five staff resident on the Isle of Man with plans to expand their workforce as the business grows. Their decision to choose the Island cements our strategy of economic diversification, job creation and securing outside investment.’

Richard Kennedy, Director of Isle of Man Teas Ltd, commented:

‘The assistance we have received from the Department has been second to none; from help finding the right commercial property, to sourcing the right people to run our facility. I look forward to continuing our relationship with the Department of Economic Development and getting to know the Isle of Man and its people.’

Isle of Man Teas moved to the Isle of Man in June 2016. The company produces a range of blended speciality loose and bagged teas that are supplied to major UK chains, such as Lloyds Pharmacy, and makes private label teas for companies throughout Europe. There are also plans to introduce Isle of Man themed blends to their range.

Isle of Man Teas produced blends should also be available to purchase from retailers across the Island in the coming months. Visit www.o-teas.com for more information on Isle of Man Teas’ primary brand of teas.
