The Dalby Harvest Home on Sunday Oct 2nd celebrates the turn of the season and brings with it the chance to gather again by the fireside for afternoon teas.
The church and schoolrooms will be decorated throughout with the colours of autumn gathered from gardens and hedges and will be open from 2.30pm – 5.30pm. Local produce, jams and chutneys, cakes and cabbages, pickles and pies will be on sale throughout the afternoon, along with cream teas, home baking and traditional Manx Fayre.
Proceeds go to the Manx charity, Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation and the Manx overseas charity, Excellent Development and Dalby Church Restoration Fund.
The Harvest Home Songs of Praise, with traditional harvest hymns, starts at 5.30pm, with the Manx Choir Cliogaree Twooie and reflections and stories by local people on what the harvest has meant to them.
Everyone is welcome to stop by for tea, or to come and give thanks, or to do both! There will be refreshments after the service. For more information please contact Cheryl on 843471.
