Drop-in session – Castletown Housing Land Review

by isleofman.com 27th September 2016

A public drop-in session is being held on Tuesday 27 September as part of the initial consultation in respect of the Castletown Housing Land Review.

The event will be held between 3pm and 7pm in the foyer of Castletown Civic Hall on Farrants Way. Representatives from the Cabinet Office will be available to respond to any enquiries.

The Area Plan for the South includes a commitment to explore potential opportunities for additional housing within Castletown. Work has started on the Castletown Housing Land Review and is focusing on three main areas:

• Housing Need – to better understand the need for additional housing in Castletown;
• Possible Sites – to identify potentially suitable sites to satisfy that need; and
• A Way Forward – to identify and implement a pragmatic and practical approach to facilitating those sites being brought forward

To support this work the Cabinet Office launched the consultation in August to seek comments on the Provisional Housing Need Assessment, the sites that have been put forward to the Department in response to the ‘Call for Sites’, and potential ways forward for the project.

The consultation documents, including the response form, are available at www.gov.im/chlr

Responses must be received by 5pm on Friday 7 October 2016.
