New Tourism Website for the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2016

The Department of Economic Development is launching a new tourism website to attract more visitors to the Isle of Man.

The visitisleofman.com website has been redesigned on a new digital platform that gives users and visitors a more enhanced experience and better showcases the Island’s unique beauty and character.

Laurence Skelly MHK, Minister for the Department of Economic Development, commented:

‘The Island’s visitor economy is essential in making the Isle of Man a great place to visit, live, work and invest. The new Visit Isle of Man website will show potential visitors the richness and diversity of the Island’s attractions, events and accommodation, with a new focus on the family and short break markets.

‘The website has been created in collaboration with the tourism industry who now have more options for marketing their business to visitors. The Department’s website for the tourism trade sector has also been enhanced, with additional resources for people looking to start, grow and develop their tourism business on the Isle of Man.’

David Cretney MLC, Member of the Department with responsibility for Tourism, commented:

‘I would like to thank all of the trade and industry partners who have been fully engaged with the project and helped to boost the site’s content and attractiveness for visitors. I would encourage any businesses who haven’t yet registered on the website to get in touch (via traveltrade@gov.im) and add their information as soon as possible to ensure full visibility to potential visitors.’

Angela Byrne, Head of Tourism for the Department commented:

‘The creation of a new tourism website is a key objective in our tourism strategy. The new site now offers improved functionality for users including itinerary building, mobile responsiveness and a login area for visitors. This will give visitors an enriched and dynamic experience when planning their trip to the Isle of Man. The website will be launched officially off-island in December along with the 2017 Visitor Guide, giving the local industry and community time to explore and test the new look and features.
