On the 29th October, the One World Centre will be offering a workshop for anyone interested in finding out about the Sustainable Development Goals, what they mean and how we can achieve them. The SDG’s replaced the Millennium Development Goals, which the Island is signed up to via the UK. The day will include talks and presentations about the Sustainable Development Goals from Helen Dennis, Senior Adviser, Poverty & Inequality, Policy and Public Affairs, Professor Keith Lewin and Professor Angela Little and various guest speakers.
So come along, if:
• You are involved with an international charity
• You have an interest in international affairs – we would welcome members of the Government who wish to learn about international obligations
• You are interested in how your company can be more responsible internationally
• You are a student interested in international affairs.
This promises to be a very interesting event and aims to raise awareness about sustainable development as this is a very important and interesting current issue. It is particularly aimed at students who want to know more about what systems are being put in place to ensure a secure future for poorer countries, but is open to everyone who wants to know more!
This event will take place in the Old Forestry Buildings, Thie Slieau Whallian, St Johns. It will cost ?10 for adults and ?5 for students, which includes lunch and coffee, and will run from 10am until 4pm. To book contact the One World Centre by emailing info@owciom.org or calling 800464.
