Collabro strikes the right note for Junior Achievement

by isleofman.com 26th October 2016

Musical theatre group Collabro struck the right note with their audience at the Villa Marina, performing in aid of Manx charity Junior Achievement Isle of Man.

The show, supported by PokerStars ‘Helping Hands’ and in association with Manx Radio, proved a sell-out success, with the 2014 winners of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent making their debut appearance in the Isle of Man, delighting a packed house with numbers from musicals including Phantom of the Opera and their album Stars and joined on stage by classical soprano Catriona Murray.

Junior Achievement’s communications and events coordinator Alex Day said: ‘Collabro gave a fantastic concert and proved a tremendous hit with the audience. This was their first time in the Isle of Man…but hopefully not the last. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re hoping to bring the boys back to the island next year.’

PokerStars’ head of corporate giving Sue Hammett said: ‘PokerStars was delighted to support the recent performance by Collabro in aid of Junior Achievement Isle of Man. Our corporate giving programme “Helping Hands” focuses on local and global support to many charities around the world and it was great to see so many at the concert, which helped the charity to raise such a fantastic amount of money.’

Alex continued: ‘Our thanks go not only to PokerStars “Helping Hands” and to Manx Radio, but also to everyone who bought tickets for the show. The people of the Isle of Man and so many local businesses have been consistently supportive when we put on our fundraising concerts and events. It’s thanks to them that we’re able to continue our work in schools with some 5000 young people every year, helping to equip them with the skills they’ll need for life after school.’
