‘Witch’ session to choose at Ramsey Library this Hop tu Naa?

by isleofman.com 27th October 2016
Ramsey Library’s story time sessions will be entering into the spirit of Hop tu Naa and bewitching young audiences with tales read by a friendly witch with only good intentions, the library’s very own Heather Ruffino in costume.

The Hop tu Naa-themed story times will be on Saturday October 29 from 11 to 11.30am and Tuesday November 1 from 9.30 to 10am: opportunities not only to hear spooky tales but also for colouring in and drawing.

And, in keeping with the occasion, children are welcome to come dressed in suitably ghoulish outfits.

Mrs Ruffino said: ‘Story times are aimed principally at pre-school age; they’re free of charge and we run them year round. We always introduce seasonal tales for celebrations such as Hop tu Naa, Christmas and Easter and children are, of course, welcome to stay for as little or as long as they like.

‘We see these sessions as a way of developing an appetite for reading at an early age, introducing children to the world of books and inspiring them to discover the fascinating journeys stories can take them on.’

Story times at Ramsey library are 9.30 to 10am on Tuesdays and 11 to 11.30am on Saturdays. Library membership to children and students up to the age of 18 island-wide is free. Membership for adults with a Ramsey post code is ?10 and ?20 for those living elsewhere in the island.
