Direct Dial Service from Isle of Man Constabulary

by isleofman.com 31st October 2016

The Isle of Man Constabulary are pleased to announce the launch of a direct dial service to assist members of the public in speaking to the correct person or department without the need to go via the main switchboard at Police Headquarters.

Every day a high volume of calls are received at Police Headquarters, especially during office hours asking to be put through to a specific person, department or Police Station.

It is hoped that by publishing the direct telephone numbers for the top 10 most requested departments that this will reduce not only the length of time members of the public have to wait, but also the demand on the counter staff at Police Headquarters for routine enquiries.

Please always dial 999 in an emergency where there is a danger to life, or a crime in progress.

Non-emergency crimes, motoring matters or lost and found property enquiries should still be reported by calling 631212 or by visiting our website www.iompolice.im which also includes many helpful links to advice you may require without the need to speak to an Operator or Police Officer.

Sgt Will Moffatt a Force Incident Manager based in the Emergency Services Joint Control Room said “If you have an enquiry with one of the listed departments during office hours - 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, please dial the number shown, as this is the prime time period for these calls. Outside this period please call 631212 and your enquiry will be dealt with as usual. The telephone numbers we have published as part of this service were the most frequently requested during a lengthy study carried out by our reception staff earlier this year. This is not an exhaustive list, but will go a long way ensuring you speak to who you want to in a timely manner”.

The direct dial numbers are:

Castletown Police Station - 822222
CID - 631301
Financial Crime Unit - 631313
Firearms Enquiries - 631402 or 631378
Peel Police Station - 842208
Police Registry - 631314
Public Protection Unit - 631499

Roads Police Unit - 631441
