Peel Centenary Centre is the venue chosen to bring JonnoPromotions’ 2016 live music events to a close with the humorous and super-talented duo of Belshazzar’s Feast making their Isle of Man debut on Saturday 26th November 2016.
Some reviewers have struggled to categorised this dynamic pair - Belshazzar’s Feast take traditional folk music, add a touch of classical and jazz, throw in a bit of “music hall” and top it all off with wry humour. They’ve been playing together since 1995, so you can imagine that their banter will be something special!
So, who are they? A “duo known for their sense of humour as well their impressive musicianship” according to the Guardian, Belshazzar’s Feast are Paul Sartin, well known as a key member of folk outfits Bellowhead and Faustus, on voice, fiddle and oboe, and Paul Hutchinson (Hoover The Dog, Karen Tweed, and the Playford Liberation Front) on voice and accordion.
Legendary British folk broadcaster and musician Mike Harding says that Belshazzar’s Feast “play like no-one else you’ve ever heard, their music is breathtaking and wickedly inventive. The two Pauls promise to ensure an entertaining and most unusual night out for all.
Tickets are available online from www.etickets.im/jp or in person from Celtic Gold, Peter Norris Music, Shakti Man, Thomson Travel and cost just ?20.00 each.
