by isleofman.com 7th November 2016

Laurence Skelly MHK, Minister for the Department of Economic Development, is inviting all local people interested in finding out more about careers and job opportunities available in the Isle of Man to Employment & Skills 2016, the Island’s largest careers event.

The event will take place on Thursday 10th November at the Villa Marina, Douglas, and will be jointly hosted by the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Education and Children.

Minister Skelly commented:

‘The Department continually works with over 20 established and emerging sectors to grow the Isle of Man’s economy. Our work promotes economic diversity which in turn provides new opportunities for residents.

‘Employment & Skills 2016 will showcase the variety of jobs and careers offered by Isle of Man companies and I hope all people with an interest in starting or furthering their career on the Isle of Man will attend.’

Graham Cregeen MHK, Minister for Education and Children, said:

‘Employment & Skills 2016 allows students from our secondary schools to speak with a diverse range of employers and learn about the qualifications, skills and attributes needed to join those professions. These conversations shape their exam and degree choices and, ultimately, their career paths as they contribute to the Island’s successful economy.’
