There will be a celebration of dancing talent this weekend as Move It at the Oscars takes to the Gaiety Theatre stage.
Specially choreographed routines set to famous movie music will be performed by 160 children, aged from two to 15, during the show produced by the Move It Dance school.
The three performances on Friday and Saturday, sponsored by leading corporate services provider SMP Partners, are the culmination of 18 months of hard work.
Move It founder Kate Caine said: ‘The children, teachers and parents are so excited for the show; it’s such a fantastic opportunity for our students to appear on the stage.
‘Everyone has worked so hard throughout the rehearsals and the level of performance has been really impressive. The show has been designed to be thoroughly entertaining whether you know someone taking part or not. Tickets sales are going really well for the evening performances on both Friday and Saturday, as well as Saturday’s matinee, but there are still seats available to come and enjoy show-stopping routines set to popular movie music performed by some of the Isle of Man’s most talented young dancers.’
She added the show is also a great opportunity for youngsters thinking about taking up dancing to get a taste of what they could be enjoying.
Co-founder Linzi Brown added: ‘Our shows inspire children to want to try dancing for themselves, in fact many of those taking part this weekend were in the audience last time we put on a Gaiety performance. We hope the amazing talent displayed on Friday and Saturday will see many more take up this great pastime.’
Move It at the Oscars will include music from blockbuster movies including Star Wars, the Lego Movie, Mary Poppins, Slumdog Millionaire and Indiana Jones. Tickets are available from
