Constabulary issue statement following Steven Corkill Inquest

The Isle of Man Constabulary has been present throughout the Inquest held by the Coroner into the death of Mr Steven Corkill.
 
The Constabulary wishes to express its condolences to the family and friends of Mr Corkill.
 
The Constabulary will consider the comments of the Coroner of Inquests and act upon his recommendations at the earliest opportunity.
 
Changes to the management of detainees who are suspected of concealing drugs internally have already been implemented by the Constabulary. Processes and procedures are continually reviewed in line with professional standards and best practice.
 
It would be inappropriate to offer any further comment at this time.
