Robin Burchill receives the 2016-2017 annual John Nicholson Foundation Bursary Award

John Hobson Nicholson was a long standing and Founder Member of Rushen & Western Mann Rotary Club, he sadly died in 1988. John was a self-taught artist and went on to establish himself as one of the most successful Manx Painters.

The John Nicholson Foundation was set up as a charity following his death to support visual arts in the Isle of Man and for the last three years has provided a Bursary each year of ?500 and may also assist other worthy cases, at the discretion of the Council.

The 2016-2017 annual John Nicholson Bursary of ?500 was awarded to worthy recipient Robin Burchill and presented by Mike Ingram, Chairman of the Foundation. Further awards of ?250 each were awarded to Henry Sale and Katie Strickett.

The Foundation has supported many requests over the years and is always pleased to view applications for assistance.
