Rushen & Western Mann Rotary Club Shoebox Appeal gets support from St John’s Methodist Church

by isleofman.com 12th December 2016

At this special time of year the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann and its members are active in filling shoeboxes with gifts of toys, toiletries, educational items and household goods to be sent to less privileged people in Eastern Europe.

This year St John’s Methodist Church supported the Rotary Club shoebox appeal with a further 31 boxes collected by members and friends of the church. Helen Robinson from St John’s said " the Rotary Club locally were keen to help when I contacted them to ask if they could accept the boxes on Island and they were able to make arrangements with Manx Independent Carriers who generously arranged the transport of the boxes free of charge".

Helen is seen here delivering the shoeboxes to John Quaye, Chairman of Manx Independent Carriers who is also a member of the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann.
