Positive outlook for Programme for Government

by isleofman.com 13th January 2017
A final opportunity for Tynwald members to present feedback, ahead of the next Tynwald sitting will take place on Monday afternoon. A call from Ralph Peake MHK for Douglas North, for this extra opportunity has been granted by Minister Thomas.

Mr Peake said, "I am pleased Minister Thomas arranged this Question and Answer session so quickly, having asked on Tuesday morning by lunch time it was agreed. This will give all Tynwald members the opportunity to hone and refine the important points contained. This is a living document and very important for the Island’s future. This does demonstrate the commitment of the Council of Ministers to listen to members and demonstrate the wish of the new House to work together for the benefit of the Island."

The Chief Minister Howard Quayle will move for a suspension of standing orders to allow a supplementary order paper to ask Tynwald to approve the Council of Ministers’ Programme for Government – Our Island: A special place to live and work.

Tynwald begins on Tuesday 17th January.
