Fire Crews attend incident at Blackboards

by isleofman.com 13th January 2017

At 04.53hrs on the 13th January the Emergency Services Joint Control Room mobilised fire crews from Douglas station to attend a single vehicle road traffic collision at the Blackboards, Ballasalla. Adverse driving conditions, due to a recent snow shower, had led to the car leaving the road and rolling approximately 20 metres down a steep tree lined bank into a field. The single occupant had escaped serious injury but required assistance from their vehicle to place of safety. Firefighters used a ladder and an improvised handrail to walk the driver to the roadside where they were met by Paramedics.

The vehicle was made safe so that it could be recovered.
