Financial and gambling regulators to appear before Tynwald Committee

The Economic Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, will be taking oral evidence on Wednesday 25th January 2017 in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Bucks Road, Douglas. Evidence will be heard from the following persons at the times stated:

2.30pm Geoff Karran MBE TH, Chairman, and Karen Badgerow, Chief Executive, Financial Services Authority

3.30pm Ron Spencer, Chairman and Steve Brennan, Chief Executive, Gambling Supervision Commission

The evidence will be taken in public. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and the proceedings can also be heard on the “live and listen again” audio webcast service on the Tynwald website.

The members of the Economic Policy Review Committee appointed by Tynwald are Mr Michael Coleman MLC (chair), Mr Tim Baker MHK and Mr Jason Moorhouse MHK.

Tynwald on 20th May 2014 resolved that the remit of the Economic Policy Review Committee should include the work of the Financial Supervision Commission, Insurance and Pensions Authority and Gambling Supervision Commission, this remit to include the requirement for the Chief Executive to give evidence in public. Evidence was previously given by the Financial Supervision Commission on 26th November 2014 and by the Gambling Supervision Commission on 11th March 2015.
