The Social Affairs Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, will be taking oral evidence on Thursday 26th January 2017 from the persons listed below at the time stated.

The session will be held in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Bucks Road, Douglas. The evidence will be taken in public. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and the proceedings will also be streamed live via the Tynwald website.
It was resolved on Tuesday 15th March 2016:
That Tynwald is of the opinion that the operation of the personal capability assessments should be referred to the Social Affairs Committee for examination and report by June 2016.
The Committee issued a call for evidence on 17th March 2016 and heard oral evidence on 11th May 2016 and 13th May 2016.

the Committee’s website. On 8th July 2016 the Committee issued a
statement saying that its work would have to continue into the Autumn. On 19th July 2016 the then Treasury Minister, Mr Teare, made a
statement in Tynwald in which he said the Treasury intended to commission an independent and objective review of the operation of personal capability assessments, using expert input. On 2nd November 2016, Treasury announced by
media release that the independent review of Personal Capability Assessments would be conducted by experienced healthcare professional John Lancaster.
