Fire Services called out following boiler fire

by isleofman.com 25th January 2017

In the early hours of this morning, the 25th January, two pumping appliances were mobilised from Douglas station to attend a reported boiler fire at a property on Victoria Road, Douglas.

All persons had evacuated the premises prior to fire service arrival. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus found the fire had been extinguished by water coming from heat damaged pipe work. The oil boiler was made safe and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the property of smoke and fumes.

An investigation is currently underway to find out the exact cause of the fire.
