The Big Beat, proudly supported by PokerStars through their Helping Hands programme, has announced a unique charity gig with some of the Island top DJ’s to give a teaser of what’s to come at the Big Beat fundraising event in February.

The Big Beat is a marathon drumming event taking place from 24th February 2017 and sees the group of drummers playing in unison to music for over 50 hours to raise funds for Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.

The “Big Beat Vs” gig at Noa Bakehouse will take place on Saturday 11th February starting at 8pm and will see members of the Big Beat team playing with top local DJs, Gyp Buggane, Christian Clague and Kim Holland for a night of funk, soul and big beat tunes.
Tickets cost ?10 and are available from Noa Bakehouse on Fort Street, Douglas, Peter Norris Music on Bucks Road, Douglas or by contacting any member of the Big Beat team.

Commenting on the gig, Martin Rigby of The Big Beat said: “We cannot wait for the Big Beat Vs gig! Playing live with the DJ’s was one of the most popular features of the first Big Beat event and hosting this unique event allows us to have a special night as a warm up to the Big Beat which starts on 24th February and will help raise much needed funds for Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.”

“Playing drums live with some of our favourite DJs is an incredible experience which allows all musicians to inspire each other and entertain the crowds in what we hope will be a sell-out event. Tickets are available now for only ?10, all of which goes to Craig’s Hearstrong Foundation.”

Martin also stated: “Sound and lighting at the at the gig will be provided by our friends at Showtech Isle of Man, who will be supporting the main Big Beat event too. We will also have Big Beat t-shirts and mugs for sale and tickets for The Big Beat raffle.”

“With Funk and soul music from Gyp Buggane and then moving to some big beat dance music with Christian Clague and Kym Holland there will be something for everyone at Noa Bakehouse which is a great venue. We’d like to thank Chris and the team at Noa for all their help.”

“This is a great introduction for anyone who has yet to sample The Big Beat, particularly if you’re not able to make it to our main event. We can’t wait to get started and hope to see you all there showing the famous generosity of the Manx public to raise as much as we can for Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.”
