Report shows progress with DHSC’s strategy

by isleofman.com 13th February 2017

A third quarterly report has been published by the Department of Health and Social Care showing progress against its 12 objectives for the financial year 2016/17.

The plan, which was published in April 2016, is the first of five, with one to be published each year between 2016 and 2021 setting out how the Department intends to deliver its five year strategy.

The Department is on target with the majority of its priorities for 2016/17, with strong progress in taking forward the Department’s elements of Government’s Digital Strategy; making arrangements for a process to assess the future care needs of the Island; reviewing UK waiting times and developing appropriate Isle of Man targets; and progressing the Island’s mental health strategy, amongst others.

Commenting on the report, Minister for Health and Social Care, Kate Beecroft, MHK, said: “The Council of Ministers and Tynwald reaffirmed its commitment to the Department’s five year strategy with the Programme for Government 2016 – 2021 published and endorsed just last month.  The Department’s important work of transforming the Island’s health and social care services by delivering on five key goals continues and I am happy to see that the Department is progressing in the right direction.”

A video and an infographic are available for the public to view with the aim of increasing the community’s understanding and awareness of the DHSC’s strategy.  More information can be found at www.gov.im/dhsc-strategy.
