The Isle of Man took centre stage at the Blackpool Travel and Leisure Show, thanks to Citywing, one of the event’s main exhibitors.
Ross Wilson from the company’s Isle of Man headquarters, together with Blackpool Airport base manager Jade Turner and Lindsey Nottingham represented Citywing at the show, which attracted a wide range of exhibitors, from travel agents to cruise and airline operators, coach-tour companies to accommodation providers.
Mr Wilson said: ‘Being held in Blackpool the show had a fantastic catchment area and provided the perfect opportunity for people from right across the north west region to find inspiration for their 2017 travel and holiday plans.
‘And with Citywing offering twice-daily flights between Blackpool and the Isle of Man, the show was a great way for us to promote the Island as an ideal year-round destination, with attractions for all generations. Feedback from the show has been really positive, with visitors to the Citywing stand genuinely interested in the Isle of Man.’
Citywing’s managing director David Buck said: ‘Thanks to Ross, Jade and Lindsey the show has clearly helped to raise the Island’s profile and its appeal as a unique destination. We hope that some of that interest shown will convert into bookings, not only for Citywing’s services but also for the benefit of the Island’s tourism industry, which we are keen to support in whatever way we can.’
Headquartered in the Isle of Man Citywing provides flights twice daily between Blackpool and the Isle of Man with fares from ?23.95 one way.
