Tower Insurance staff donation to Buddies was a popular choice

by isleofman.com 16th February 2017

Staff from Tower Insurance who are regular Beach Buddies volunteers have chosen to make a donation to the charity in support of their ongoing work around the Isle of Man.

The company has been a keen supporter of the beach cleaning organisation for a number of years, annually sending teams of volunteers to take part in beach cleaning sessions all over the Island.

“When it came to choosing a charity to make a donation from our money raised from staff dress-down days, quiz nights and the Toughmann challenge, Beach Buddies was a very popular choice,” said Kellie Hands, commercial team leader at Tower Insurance. “Most of our staff have taken part in sessions with Beach Buddies and we believe this is a very worthwhile cause to support.”

Tower Insurance have presented Beach Buddies with a donation of ?1,500. Founder Bill Dale said, “This is a very generous donation and I’m personally delighted it has come from the staff of a company which has been a great supporter of Beach Buddies these last few years.”

The donation is to be used towards the purchase of a replacement quadbike for Beach Buddies, to assist with collecting bags of rubbish collected on northern and northwestern beaches, saving volunteers from dragging sometimes very heavy bags long distances back to access points.
