Paul Shoesmith Memorial Bench

by isleofman.com 23rd February 2017

Not many people will be aware that Paul has been a great supporter of Joey Dunlop Foundation (JDF) for many years. The first time I met Paul was when he dragged his mate, James Whitham, to a JDF winter event in 2005. Over recent years, I have worked closely with Paul on the Simon Andrews memorial lap. Additional to the support Paul gave to JDF, Janet, Paul’s partner, has also been a supporter of the Charity, with her father and brother, William, assisting with fundraising in the past.

The JDF committee felt that it would be appropriate to remember Paul at the JDF holiday complex and there was only one option - purchase a memorial bench to be situated next to Simon Andrews’ memorial bench.

With our funds committed to the construction of extra apartments, and with Janet's blessing, we have started a separate appeal for the Paul Shoesmith Memorial Bench.

All donations, small or large, would be greatly appreciated and we kindly ask that if you wish to donate, please do so via our website (http://www.joeydunlopfoundation.com) or send a cheque to JDF, Braddan Bridge, Peel Road, Braddan, Isle of Man, IM4 4NT.

For further information regarding JDF, please phone Kevin on 0164677741.
