by isleofman.com 1st March 2017

Staff at Nedgroup Investments who were asked to choose a local good cause to receive a donation, have selected the charity Housing Matters which helps the homeless and those with housing problems.

“We wanted to make a donation to a worthy cause which reflected the wishes of the staff,” said managing director Andrew Lodge. “Housing Matters was suggested and everyone liked the idea.”

Nedgroup Investments, based in Samuel Harris House, Douglas, handed over a cheque for ?1,000 to Jon Morley, director of Housing Matters, at the company’s offices.

Housing Matters gives advice, guidance and support around housing matters to people living on the Isle of Man, with the chief aim of relieving hardship and distress amongst homeless people and those living in adverse housing conditions.

Jon Morley said, “It is much appreciated that the staff at Nedgroup Investments thought about us when choosing a charity to help.
“Homeless people include not only those with no accommodation, but also those living somewhere that is unsuitable, unsafe or short term. Our vision is that everyone has the opportunity to access housing appropriate to their need.

“Every donation is used to identify and promote potential opportunities for homeless people and to work towards prevention of homelessness.”
