by isleofman.com 14th March 2017

In his Budget speech last month, the Treasury Minister announced changes in income tax personal allowances and the 10% tax rate band as follows:

Personal allowances           2017/18  2016/17

Single person                      ?12,500  ?10,500

Jointly assessed couples     ?25,000  ?21,000

10% tax rate band

Single person                       ?6,500  ?8,500

Jointly assessed couples      ?13,000  ?17,000

The Income Tax Division is preparing to issue 2017/18 tax codes to people in employment. If the only change to an employee’s tax code is as a result of the above, a coding notice (form T1) will not be issued to the employee. Employers, however, will be notified of all changes to their employees’ tax codes.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding your tax code you can contact the Income Tax office in the following ways:

• Phone the Customer Service Team on +44 1624 685400
• Visit or write to the Customer Service Team on 2nd floor, Government Office, Buck’s Road, Douglas. Office opening hours are Mon to Thurs 9.15am - 5pm, Fri 9.15am - 4.30pm
• Email the Customer Service Team - incometax@itd.treasury.gov.im.
