Safety Notice – Bosch and Neff Built-In Gas Hobs

by isleofman.com 14th March 2017

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is making the public aware of a safety notice which has been issued in relation to Bosch and Neff Built-In Gas Hobs.

The following gas hobs are affected:

Bosch model: NGU4151DB (produced January 2009 - October 2011)
Neff model: T20S31N0 (produced January 2009 - October 2011)

Due to potential damage to installed gas connectors, in certain circumstances gas can escape in an uncontrolled manner and, in extremely rare cases, a risk of explosion can arise.

To avoid any potential hazard, owners of an affected appliance should turn off the gas supply to the appliance immediately and not use it until the connection fitting has been replaced.
Owners of affected hobs will be offered a free replacement of the gas connector by an authorised service engineer at the owner's home.

Guidance on obtaining the model number and batch number of your hob can be found at http://tinyurl.com/j5nvyqe for Bosch and at http://tinyurl.com/zedwetv for NEFF.

Once you have obtained the model number and batch number of your hob using the guidance, enter them at http://tinyurl.com/jo4nd7t to determine if your hob is affected.

If you do not have access to a computer, you can contact the OFT directly if you think that you may own one of the hobs affected.
