More than ?30,000 will be donated to charity thanks to staff at Nedbank Private Wealth.
Staff across its offices is Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey raised ?15,191.24 throughout the year which is an impressive increase of 12.5% on the sum raised the previous year. This demonstrates the tremendous effort staff put in to fundraising, through social events, raffles and cake sales.
The amount raised by staff was matched pound-for-pound by the company, giving a total overall fund of more than ?30,000, of which ?25,000 was donated straight away to the staff-nominated charities.
Janet Taylor, the chair of the company’s charity committee, said: ‘We are delighted that our staff raised such a staggering amount which has been kindly matched by the company. The donations will make a massive difference to our chosen charities which work tirelessly to help people who really need the additional support.’
‘It was an honour to present the cheque on behalf of Nedbank Private Wealth and all my colleagues to the two charities nominated by our Isle of Man office, Hospice Isle of Man and Wish Upon a Dream in the Isle of Man, and our international charity, Friends of Chernobyl's Children.'
The five staff-nominated charities were Wish Upon a Dream in the Isle of Man, Hospice Isle of Man, Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation in Guernsey, Jersey Heart Support Group, and Friends of Chernobyl's Children. While the first four charities do an outstanding job of supporting the local communities in the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, the latter charity is recognised worldwide for its campaigns supporting children from badly contaminated areas of Belarus.
