Round of Applaws for Raymotors Canine Champ

by isleofman.com 6th April 2017

Charity Paws for Therapy has received a donation of ?200, thanks to mischievous Springer Spaniel and his owner.

Raymotors of Ramsey recently ran a competition on Facebook to find the Island’s ‘Dirtiest Dog’, with the winner receiving a voucher and a chance to nominate a charity of their choice for a generous donation. The competition attracted over 100 entries from owners of mudlarks around the Island but there could only be one winner. This was a Springer Spaniel called Talisker, nominated by his owner Georgie Self.

Georgie’s chosen charity was Paws for Therapy (Isle of Man), which arranges therapeutic visits by dogs and their volunteer handlers to, amongst others, care homes, special needs units, hospices and day care centres.

David Casement from Raymotors commented, “While it was a fun competition to run, there was also a chance for someone to help people in our community with the ?200 donation. Both young and old alike benefit from the wonderful work carried out by Paws for Therapy and their four-legged volunteers. Congratulations to Georgie – and to Talisker!”
