Lottery betting operator Annexio has donated ?5,000 to Motiv8 in support of its GamCare Isle of Man counselling service.
 
Formerly known as the Isle of Man Alcohol Advisory Service, Motiv8 has broadened its remit to include drug awareness and support for those affected by problem gambling. The GamCare scheme includes a special helpline and the offer of free, non-judgemental help and advice to anyone who is concerned their own gambling – or that of a friend or family member - is getting out of control. The GamCare service is entirely reliant on donations.
 
Annexio’s Global Affiliate Manager Luke Cashin said: “Through its GamCare programme, Motiv8 can offer valuable support to anyone who feels their playing is no longer the fun activity it is intended to be and who is concerned it is negatively impacting on their day-to-day life. As a responsible eGaming business, we are pleased to be able to help Motiv8 develop this service and hope other eGaming operators will follow suit to support the charity’s work on the Isle of Man.”

We are hopeful that other operators will appreciate the importance of continuing to fund the Island’s local service for those affected by problem gambling, especially considering the importance of this sector to the Manx economy.”
