Changes to improve driving test appointments system

by isleofman.com 12th April 2017

The Department of Infrastructure is introducing changes aimed at enhancing the driving test appointments system.

A new approach is being piloted that will see tests for heavy goods vehicles, motorbikes and buses scheduled on specific days of the week. These changes will come into effect from Monday 15 May 2017.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer MHK said: ‘The Department carries out more than 3,000 driving examinations each year, of which approximately 2,500 are for cars. By grouping together the test slots for other types of vehicle on certain days we aim to make the overall system more efficient. The changes we are implementing will help to meet demand while maintaining waiting times at a reasonable level.’

Further details are available on the Government website.
