Peel Lifeboat launched to assist yacht

by isleofman.com 2nd May 2017

At 3pm yesterday (1st May 2017) the Peel lifeboat “Ruby Clery ” with her volunteer crew was launched to assist a yacht in difficulties 12 miles west off Peel.

The newly purchased yacht suffered total sudden engine failure despite the engine being almost new. With a further rigging failure, the yacht had no alternative but to call for assistance.

The “Orme Fox” with three persons on board was taken in tow and berthed at Peel.

The lifeboat was refuelled and returned to service at 6pm.
