Lunchtime yesterday, 4th May 2017, fire crews from Douglas station were called to attend a reported fire at Hills Meadow Industrial Estate.

On arrival it was found that a metal fabrication industrial unit, that was undergoing renovation, was on fire.

Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and used a thermal image camera to check for hot spots. The cause of the fire was due to hot work precautions not being fully implemented.

Fire crews remained in attendance for one hour.
