Award-winning family show Gandeys Circus was an outstanding success in the Isle of Man with thanks to new event management technology by VisitIOM.co.uk. The thrilling extravaganza took place at Douglas RFC between 28th April to 2nd May and was a near sell-out, with thousands of seats sold via a new online event management system.
It had been almost 25 years since Gandeys Circus last visited the island and the show was stunningly choreographed with 30 international artists and a support team of 20 staff. The logistics of the show could only have been made possible with additional sponsorship from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, which sailed a total 11 articulate lorries across to the Island.
Gandeys Circus organiser Peter Massera commented: “We had a fantastic response from the Isle of Man, especially since we had not toured the island for so long. The event management software used by VisitIOM.co.uk made the whole experience seamless”.
Thousands of tickets for the show were sold on an innovative event management system by VisitIOM.co.uk who are the only travel agent on the island with this cutting-edge event registration technology. The system enables customers around the World to book event tickets, travel and accommodation all online, on a single website.
VisitIOM.co.uk Business Development Manager, Darrel Tinnion added: “Our system can cater for all types of events for both off island and local customers. This is one of the reasons why we’ve been appointed Official Travel Partner for several events on the island including ISLEXPO, Southern 100 Road Races, IOM Aviation Conference and many more.”
The event system allows organisers to concentrate on their events, helping to take away the stress of registrations and travel bookings. Reporting data is collated and provided to the organiser, all at a touch of a button.
“There was no juggling act when it came to organising the ticket sales thanks to VisitIOM.co.uk” added Massera. “Following the success of this year’s show we are considering bringing the Big Top back to the island next year. Watch this space”.
