Brilliant Butterflies at Onchan Library

by isleofman.com 9th May 2017

Harvey Briggs Onchan Library has won ?100 of Jacqueline Wilson books in a National library display competition. Their Butterfly Beach display celebrated World Book Day, and was inspired by the work of bestselling writer Jacqueline Wilson. The library invited children to make butterflies for the competition either at home, or at their World Book Day activity session. There was an outstanding response, providing Library Assistant Quinn Shipton with a kaleidoscope of butterflies to use in creating the winning display.

The competition was organised by The Reading Agency, and Assistant Programme Manager Juliana Oliver said:

“Penguin Random House children’s books have chosen Onchan Library’s BRILLIANT butterfly display as the winner of their library display competition! It was so colourful and creative and they enjoyed seeing the children get stuck into the butterfly crafts.”
