The Isle of Man has this week hosted a visit by the Private Secretary to Her Majesty The Queen.

The Rt. Hon. Sir Christopher Geidt KCB KCVO OBE held a series of meetings with Ministers, Members, Crown representatives and senior Government officers on Tuesday.

He was welcomed by Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney, The Queen’s personal representative in the Isle of Man.

Sir Christopher, who joined the Royal Household from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, also met Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK who provided an update on the Island’s role in international affairs.

Government House works closely with Buckingham Palace on a range of important issues, such as Royal visits and obtaining Royal Assent for the Isle of Man’s primary legislation.

Tuesday’s visit enabled Sir Christopher to further his understanding of the Island and its growing importance in the global community.

Sir Christopher, who last visited the Isle of Man in 2009, said: ‘I’m delighted to have had this opportunity to meet local Crown officers, as well as members of the Government. I enjoyed a full and productive visit and learnt more about the Island during my time here.’
