UK engagement to continue following election

by isleofman.com 12th June 2017

Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK has confirmed the Isle of Man will continue its engagement with UK politicians following last week’s general election.

Mr Quayle commented: ‘A hung Parliament is a surprising outcome but there will be no change in the Island’s policy of promoting understanding of our position at Westminster and Whitehall.

‘It is important that whoever is in charge of the UK Government has an awareness and appreciation not only of the Island’s interests around Brexit but also of our positive role in relation to the British economy and the wider global economy.

‘Through our programme of external engagement we have developed a network of relationships across the political parties, and we will now be working to build on those contacts in the context of the new political landscape in the UK’.
