Innovative ‘rant and rave breakfast’ boosts sports coaching

by isleofman.com 13th June 2017
Sports coaches will swap success stories and share solutions to challenges at an innovative breakfast gathering.

‘Rant and Rave Breakfast Club’ will be held at the National Sports Centre cafe on Saturday 15th July, 8am to 9.30am.

The free event forms part of Isle of Man Sport’s Coaches’ Forum, which supports all sports as they strive for success.

Trevor Christian, Sports Coaching Co-ordinator, said: ‘The session will be a great opportunity for coaches to swap stories about what they do well, what is important to them, what frustrates them and how they can raise the standard of coaching even higher in the Island.

‘Coaches are the backbone of local sport and nurture participants of all ages and abilities to improve and excel.

‘By “raving” about what we do well, we can share ideas and ways of working that will benefit each other.

‘By “ranting” about our frustrations, we will realise that although we coach different sports in different ways, we have common issues – and common solutions.

‘This will be a short, sharp session that will motivate us all ahead of a Saturday of coaching commitments.’

To book a place at the buffet breakfast, ring Trevor on 688590 or email trevor.christian@gov.im.

Coaches can also find out more information via the Isle of Man Sport Coaches’ Forum group on facebook.

Isle of Man Sport is an independent forum for the promotion and development of sport and recreation. It advises the Isle of Man Government on sport and recreation.

As well as supporting coaching, it gives sports grants to develop facilities and purchase equipment.
