Dr Alex Allinson asked in yesterday's Sitting of the House of Keys as to how many gastroscopies, colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies and cystoscopies were carried out in 2016/17; and how many of these were done at the Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital?
The following figures were provided:
Gastroscopy/OGD; Noble's 999, Ramsey 206, Total 1205
Colonoscopy; Noble's 987, Ramsey 268, Total 1255
Flexi Sigmoidoscopy; Noble's 256, Ramsey 49, Total 305
Cystoscopy; Noble's 455, Ramsey 69, Total 524
Thus the grand total of procedures at Noble's was 2697 compared to 592 at Ramsey.
In addition to the above, there were 28 endoscopic examination of urethra procedures carried out (not specified in the original Keys’ question), bringing the total number of procedures undertaken during 2016/17 to 3317.
