Full house at Charity Boutique afternoon tea

by isleofman.com 23rd June 2017
Charity Boutique, the week-long pop-up hosted by Creechurch Capital, is in full swing and on Wednesday hosted a full house of residents for its afternoon tea event raising funds for Isle of Man Live at Home.

Part of a string of activities from across the week, the occasion attracted over 50 residents – which took the event to maximum capacity - from across the Island to join in festivities. The event was catered by Niarbyl Outside Catering who provided a large selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones alongside further donations from volunteers which all went down a treat with guests. Tea and Noa Bakehouse coffee donated by Mannvend was also served at the event and throughout the week.

Stewart Quayle from Creechurch Capital commented: “There’s nothing quite like a cup of tea and a slice of cake to bring together the community. The event was very much in the spirit of the core values of charity we were fundraising for, grounded in friendships and community. A huge thank you to Niarbyl Outside Catering, Mannvend, all our volunteers and everyone who came along and made it such a great afternoon.”

The Charity Boutique is running for the rest of the week at 33 Victoria Street selling a variety of items as well as teas, coffees and refreshments. It will conclude with an Alice in Wonderland themed family fun day on Saturday 24th June between 10am at 2pm. The business is inviting families to join them ‘down the rabbit hole’ to meet characters from the books, partake in a range of games and activities including face painting and treat themselves to popcorn and sweets.
