Isle of Man Police are aware of a social media post about the report of an alleged assault on a young child at the Manx Museum yesterday.

We are investigating the incident where a male was arrested and an investigation is taking place. We will work with the management at the Museum and ensure that appropriate measures are in place in relation to the ongoing safety of children at that site. Specialist Officers are supporting the child and family.

We are aware that there is speculation on Social Media but we would please ask that this is refrained from due to the nature of the investigation.
