On Saturday 1st July the Isle of Man Farmers’ Markets will be hosting a special ‘10th Anniversary’ Celebration Market at the Villa Marina, where it all began 10 years ago.

On the 7th July 2007 the Isle of Man Farmers’ Markets made it's debut under the colonnades of the Villa Marina. An initiative set up with the help of the then Department of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries (DAFF), to offer Farmers and producers a chance to diversify their businesses, and to promote the wide variety, quality, availability and traceability of Manx produce. The Markets now aim to showcase the entrepreneurial and imaginative ways in which Manx businesses have grown in order satisfy consumers as they seek to buy quality food and drink from the best sources.

Over the past 10 years the organisation has helped to raise the awareness of local produce and the producers, and has also provided a starting block for a number of businesses which have gone on to expand and prosper beyond expectations.

This event will bring together a number of the Islands top Producers, all offering the finest locally grown and made products. There will be a range of old and new faces with both current ‘Members’ and ‘Friends’ of the Isle of Man Farmer’s Markets exhibiting.

The Market will be a fun place for the whole family and provide a gift to your senses! With live music provided by SoundCheck - a music project that promotes young musicians island wide - children’s entertainment and a variety of stalls, there will be something for everyone. And as it’s a birthday… there will be cake!

It is free to visit and customers will get access to the freshest and highest quality produce on the Island including fruit and vegetables, baked goods, Manx farmed meat, jams and preserves, eggs and honey, locally grown plants, hot food and a variety of craft goods.

So come and take a look and see what the Island has to offer.
