Fashion for Life to celebrate the 60’s at the Villa

by isleofman.com 3rd July 2017

One of the biggest charity events, held every two years on the Island, ‘Fashion for Life’ has announced the date of this year’s show to be Friday 27th October in the Royal Hall, Villa Marina.

The fashion and cabaret show, features models who have all experienced breast cancer themselves.

‘Isle of Man Breast Care’ who stage the spectacular event, will be joined this year by ‘Breast Cancer NOW, Isle of Man Group’. The two breast cancer charities are working together to make this year’s show bigger and better than ever!

As ever the show will be ably compared by the irrepressible duo of Dot Tilbury and Geoff Corkish with their usual outrageous costumes and comical antics on the stage. Live music will bring the event to life from The Swinging Sixties era which will be our theme this year and you can join us in 60's gear but this is optional.

Our main and generous sponsors of the night are Wi-Manx who are delighted to be involved with Isle of Man Breast Care and Breast Cancer NOW IOM Group on this evening of fun and laughter but at the same time raising much needed funds and awareness of this disease. Once again Shoprite are kindly supporting us along with Ascot International, we are truly grateful for all of these company's wonderful support to the event.

The fabulous fashions of the cat walk will be kindly supplied once again by M &S, where you can see a fantastic range of outdoor, day, evening, night and lounge and lingerie wear, not to mention a special cat walk of fashions being kept under wraps!

A fun launch will be held in Douglas town centre on Saturday 26th August, so please watch out for further details in the press, on the radio and FaceBook of both charities and save the date in your diary!

Isle of Man Breast Care is a charity support group set up in 1997 to support breast cancer patients and their families on the Island. They hold monthly meetings, attend appointments with patients if required, and provide financial assistance where possible. The Island branch of Breast Cancer NOW, campaigns for services in the Isle of man, raises funds for research into the disease and raises awareness. Their aim is that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer, will survive.
