by isleofman.com 7th July 2017

Ballakermeen has become the first school on the island to sign up to the government's Digital Inclusion Strategy 2016-2021.This initiative, which brings together partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, is part of the Government’s Digital Strategy, which aims to bring more services online.

The school recently appointed two of its ICT Faculty as e-learning leaders. Ant Parr and Jay Whitby have produced a school strategy aimed at promoting the use of technology, both inside and outside the classroom.

"We are delighted to support the island's wider initiative in making the most of online opportunities in education. There is real potential for transformative change, which is very exciting," said Ant.

Jay echoed these sentiments. "Our aim at Ballakermeen is to ensure all students can access these opportunities. The Digital Inclusion Strategy has already given us lots of good ideas."
