Dandara has renewed its support for a popular junior competition at Peel Golf Club.
The award-winning homebuilder will again provide prizes for the club’s Open Competition, which takes place in August.
The contest, which is open to junior golfers from clubs across the Island, is organised on a ‘medal’ format. There are prizes for the youngest players, from the age of just five, through to the more experienced junior golfers. Dandara’s sponsorship ensures prizes are available to all categories.
Peel Golf Club has a strong junior section which includes members who have represented the Isle of Man at international events and Lancashire Ladies in the UK.
Club Junior Organiser Tracy Saunders said: ‘The club prides itself on the fact it is in the enviable position of having the largest junior section of all the Island’s golf clubs, and it is felt that having competitive golf for juniors week in, week out only goes towards making them better players.
‘The club has a great social side to its programme throughout the year with various fundraising and social events for all the family. Golf is now a family occasion with more and more parents and children taking part in the same events.
‘The club’s success is also down to the valuable contributions from its sponsors, of which Dandara is clearly one of the most well-known brands around the Isle of Man, and its participation can only continue to drive our success. Our main aim is to provide a safe and fun place for the children to get into golf and with many of the kids playing at senior Island level over the last few years it just goes to prove what can be achieved.’
The sponsorship is just part of Dandara’s commitment to supporting sport in the Isle of Man. It has been actively involved in football, cycling, volleyball, bowling, rugby and other sports for many years, and in 2017 is continuing its title sponsorship of Isle of Man Golf’s Junior Order of Merit and Junior Championships.

The Open Competition is scheduled to take place at Peel Golf Club on 15th August.
