by isleofman.com 25th July 2017

On Friday 21st July, 14 students from a variety of countries including Poland, Portugal, Spain, Macau, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands and Romania visited the Isle of Man for the weekend as part of Rotary District 1285 Summer Camp 2017.

Five members of the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann hosted the students on the Friday afternoon when despite damp weather conditions they enjoyed an educational visit to Castletown with a sitting of Tynwald in the Old House of Keys and then a tour of Castle Rushen. This was followed by a tour of the South, arriving at Cregneash Village and finally to the Sound where they enjoyed a meal at the Sound Cafe and Restaurant.

The students and Rotary Club members enjoyed their time together, having great fun and exchanging cultural values. Each student was presented with a ‘Manx’ gift pack to commemorate their 2017 Summer Camp visit to the Isle of Man.
