Isle of Man Creamery is celebrating four prestigious award wins for its Manx butter.
Isle of Man Creamery Whey butter has been awarded a prestigious Three Star Great Taste Award from the Guild of Fine Food, one of only 165 products in the British Isles, out of 12,500 judged. This is on the back of another successful trip to the International Cheese Awards in Nantwich where the butter won a Gold and Silver Award.
Manx Whey Butter is made from whey cream separated from the whey during the cheese making process. It has a sharper flavour and deeper colour than salted dairy butter.
Comments received from the Great Taste judges include:
“Creamy, thick and faultlessly salted, the perfect ‘cement between the bricks’ in any sandwich.”
“What a fine butter! There is some really delicious flavour here - full bodied and with 'cheesy' background notes. Delish!!”
Salted Dairy Butter was also awarded a One Star Great Taste Award with feedback from the judges:
“A very pure yellow, creamy butter. The salt level is good, the butteriness is rich and melting into clean dairy notes.”
Sales Manager, Tim Sayers said: ‘We are over the moon to have been awarded one of the highest accolades in the food industry with a Three Star Great Taste Award. Our Whey Butter is somewhat of an unsung hero, and I hope that these awards will encourage more people to try it.’
Isle of Man Creamery will be exhibiting at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show on the 11th and 12th August, where Whey Butter will be available to taste and purchase.
