RTC offers chance to sweep ?50 prize

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2017

Ramsey Town Commissioners are offering a chance to sweep a ?50 prize for naming their new street-cleaning vehicle.

Lead member for works and development Alby Oldham said: ‘Since taking over responsibility for street cleaning from the Department of Infrastructure, the Commission has reviewed its fleet requirements and identified the need for a machine capable of cleaning areas inaccessible to larger vehicles.  With this in mind we have acquired a Scarab M25H compact sweeper. It’s an extremely versatile machine, ideal for reaching awkward, confined areas, such as back lanes. Importantly, the considerable investment the vehicle represents not only demonstrates the Commission’s continuing commitment to town centre regeneration but also to raising environmental standards in Ramsey.

‘It is for these reasons, and given that the vehicle is set to become a familiar sight in the town, that the Commissioners decided to hold a competition to name our latest addition to the fleet.’

‘Name the Scarab’ entries can be made on Ramsey Town Commissioners’ Facebook page or by emailing enquiries@rtc.gov.im and typing ‘SCARAB’ in the subject line. Closing date for entries, Monday October 9, 2017.

The winning entry will receive a ?50 Ramsey town voucher.
