Isle of Man to feature on popular BBC Radio 4 programme

by isleofman.com 11th October 2017
Tomorrow, Thursday 12th October, the Isle of Man will feature on Ramblings, the popular BBC Radio 4 programme which sees Clare Balding walk through the beautiful countryside and talk to an interesting guest.

In this episode, Clare walks with Jane and Peter Gunn from the Manx Footpaths Conservation Group (MFCG) and Andrew Foxon from Go-Mann Adventures, where they share their vast combined knowledge of the Island. Clare also undertook a second walk which broadcast last Thursday (5th October).

During their walk, Jane, Peter and Andrew introduced Clare – who had always wanted to visit but never made the journey – to the beautiful Manx countryside, walking from Kallow Point in Port St Mary following the Raad ny Foillan (the ‘Way of the Gull’ in Manx Gaelic) via Glenchass, the Chasms, Black Head and Spanish Head, before finishing at The Sound.

Andrew said: “It was really great to meet Clare and explore the Island together, showing her some of the most beautiful spots. It all came about when Jane and Peter heard Clare mention on the programme that she’d never visited, so they decided to extend an invitation. Hopefully everyone who listens will be inspired to visit and fall in love with our beautiful Island.”

Ramblings will broadcast at 3pm on Thursday 12th October and at 6.07am on Saturday 14th October. For more information, please visit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b097c82x
