Chrystals results so far - despite the unfriendly weather:

The referee, Ian Watson is not sure we can complete the event for Finals on Saturday  due to the bad weather - even with an indoor court he can only schedule one match at a time instead of 3 outdoors plus one indoors. Who'd want to referee a tournament?

Two of our juniors have had further successes in recent Uk tournaments.

Charlotte Clarke (12) played in a grade 3 event at the Bolton Tennis Arena and finished runner-up.  She has also played in a grade 4 event in Halifax which was for U16 players and she finished 5th. Last Friday her UK ranking moved up from 62 to 58. Charlotte is very keen to make tennis her career and works really hard training, enjoys her coaching and is always asking seniors to give her a hit. She has just gained sponsorship from Equiom Limited towards the travel costs of her next event - playing U12, U14 and U16 - in Warrington.

Jayden Go is another junior who works hard on his game and is for ever at the club practising or having coaching. He recently play played at Sherborne winning all his matches, then won 2 matches in Wrexham and 2 more matches in Liverpool. The UK competitions are tough and to win matches is quite an achievement. If any other juniors play in UK tournaments please let me have your scores - I can e-mail you the standard form for recording events/results.

The recent Big Stir Coffee Morning held at the club raised  ?135 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thanks to Carisa Skehan, Sharon Lane , Linda Donald and all our members who supported the event. Friday 27th October will be PINK FRIDAY. Other events: This year the club will be hosting the IOMLTA Annual Dinner/Prize Presentation on Saturday 11 November. More details later.
